Marilynn Rashid was born and raised in Detroit and is a Lecturer in Spanish at Wayne State University. Her poems, translations and essays have appeared in a number of both local and national publications such as The Fifth Estate, The MacGuffin, Paintbrush, Natural Bridge and The International Poetry Review. Marilynn's essay, What's Not in a Name was recently re-printed in Arab Detroit. From Margin to Mainstream was published by Wayne State University Press.
