Taurus Burns is a prolific, visionary artist who exhibits regularly in the Detroit area and beyond. He moved to Detroit in 1998 to attend the College for Creative Studies, and in 2000 was selected for Artist-in-Residence with Art on the Move, where he mentored several Detroit high school students through the construction of a large-scale public sculpture, exhibited that year at the Detroit Festival of the Arts. Taurus has taught art in Detroit-area schools and community centers over the past several years, and is currently teaching through the Community Arts Partnership program at CCS. In 2006 he added murals to his repertoire, with the completion of his first large-scale mural titled "Birth", located at Caruso Caruso in Birmingham, MI.
