Dolores Slowinski, has a BFA in weaving and ceramics, and for three decades served as an arts administrator, museum coordinator, and freelance writer; in addition to family life as wife, mother, and caregiver. Her words appeared in letters, grant applications, art magazines, and literary journals; reminders to her husband, lunch box notes to her daughter, correspondence with medical practitioners, and eulogies for family members. During the last 10 years Slowinski has been reclaiming studio time working with beads, beeswax, colored pencils, fabrics, fibers, oil pastels, paper, and watercolors. Dispatch Detroit is the first literary journal to publish her visual work.
