ALAN FRANKLIN is an unemployed Spanish teacher with a large collection of books, many of which he has not read. As guitarist/singer/songwriter for the Cass Corridor’s one-premier political rock band, The Layabouts, he spent 20 years struggling to resist the siren song of rock and roll stardom; he expects to do no less in the literary realm.
