Martyn Bouskila was born in London in 1954 and moved to the United States in 1979. He is a graduate of Cranbrook Academy of Art. For many years he has worked in the genre of landscape painting, fusing a precise and geometric style of pointillism with romantic treescape imagery. During the past year he has begun a series of abstract paintings that corral random or natural markings into formal constructs. Bouskila's work has been shown in galleries in New Jersey, Atlanta, Washington and Detroit, among other places, and he is currently writing a satirical novel about art, and the making of art.
