Maureen Aitken's fiction has appeared in The Journal, Puerto del Sol. the MacGuffin, Blink and Women's Words. Her fiction has been nominated for the Pushcart Prize and won an award in Ireland's, Fish Short Story Prize, judged by Frank McCourt, Molly McClosky, Alex Reegan and published in The Bering Strait and Other Stories. She has been on the editoral staff of Spout, Graywolf Press, Michigan Quarterly Review and Passages North. Aitken is co-editor of the journal, Orchid. Born and raised in Detroit, she now lives in Minneapolis where she teaches writing at the University of Minnesota's General College.
