Mick Vranich was born in 1946 in Wyandotte, Michigan, an industrial town ten miles downriver from Detroit. He has been writing poems and playing guitar for thirty-five years. Saw Horse is Vranich's fourth book of poetry. He lives in Detroit with his wife, painter, Sherry Hendrick, and makes his living as a carpenter.
