Daniel Hammel grew-up in a local suburb of Detroit.

Hammel, a chain smoker who drinks his weight in alcohol has lived in the city for the last 4 years and can often be found slumping between the Cass Cafe and 3rd Street Saloon in the Cass Corridor.
