Kathleen Gross, a resident of Detroit's Cass Cooridor from the early 1970s - 1981 when she moved to SanFrancisco. Before leaving Detroit, Gross began to pursue an interest in photography with b & w urban portraits and studies of the corridor landscape. She has continued these studies both in SanFrancisco and in Detroit. A series of urban landscapes from Detroit, 2003 were recently projected as a backdrop in a theater performance of Leonard Berstein's, Mass. Her most recent work has been shot in color and printed with archival dyes. Kathi continues to focus on the color and textures of history in decay and the effect of time on the urban message.
